

Morningside Gallery gladly is partnering with local artist, Ben Moore, to provide an auction item for the Warmth of Wine fundraising event. Since 2006, the Warmth of Wine has raised over $250,000 to help local seniors on fixed incomes with the ever-increasing cost of heating their homes in winter. The Warmth of Wine is a spectacular wine tasting event with live and silent auctions, raffles, and an exciting mystery wine pull! CSSC is the largest provider of programs and services for seniors in the area offering helping seniors remain healthy, active and independent; preserving and enhancing their quality of life as they grow older.
Colonie is home to the Capital Region’s largest senior population over 65 – 1/3 of Albany County’s seniors, 19,000 strong, live in Colonie, Colonie’s senior population, aged 60 and older, grew by 14% from 2000 to 2010.
Through the years they have added and expanded their programs and services to include Senior Dining (an Albany County Congregate Meal Program) (1982), Health & Wellness (1983), Transportation (1984), Bright Horizons Adult Day Services (1985), Sheehy Manor (1998), Beltrone Living Center (1999), Bright Horizons at Carondelet (2004), Bright Horizons at Pine Grove (2007), Umbrella of Colonie (2008), the Driver Fitness center (2008), and the Financial Literacy Resource Center (2007).
Their programs and services are designed to help seniors remain independent, active and healthy. In 2012, their 3 Bright Horizons locations provided more than 10,000 days of care and respite for 153 caregiving families; Umbrella of Colonie completed more than 600 jobs for more than 300 senior members; Transportation Services provided nearly 18,000 rides; Healthy Aging programs saw attendance of nearly 7,800 with over 25 classes each week; and our 2 Housing Facilities provided independent housing for 425 seniors. Their Volunteer Program boasts nearly 300 dedicated volunteers that contribute over 20,000 hours of their time and talent each year.
