This past Holiday Season was full of interesting Framing jobs for our customers. This burst of imagination on the part of people looking to create the “perfect gift” for someone never ceases to amaze us.
As in previous Posts, the “story” behind a particular piece is often fascinating and touching at the same time, and it is what keeps us engaged with
what we do here at Morningside. We consider it a privilege to help individuals preserve their family “story”. These projects always present their own challenges, but in the end, the work is always worthwhile.
A great example is the project shown here. This pint-sized golf club was accompanied by a scorecard and an instamatic photo. The “story” that went along with this collection was that the items had been saved by a thoughtful grandparent who wanted to preserve the memory of a young boy’s very first golf outing with his Grandfather some years ago. The story becomes even more poignant when you’re told that the youngster grew up to be a Golf Pro!
Perhaps even more impressive than our Framing, was the fact that someone had the foresight to save these items AND had the ability to find them all these years later! Maybe it’s time for us all to clean out those top drawers and continue our family’s story.
