"I have many passions…Painting is one. I am primarily a representational painter working in watercolor, oil and pastel for 33 years and with each subject or series my enthusiasm grows. Portraying animals being themselves in dramatic lighting prompted me to do a feline show, "The Cat's Meow", with 56 paintings ranging in size from 4 inches to 4 feet. It was a most enjoyable labor of love.
Teaching is another passion. Twenty five years of teaching private classes and workshops has been a great gift to me. It's a toss as to who learns more, but the bonding in these classes is truly amazing. Weekly classes are in Latham, New York. I also teach workshops.
Color makes a painting sing. Recently I’ve started a series of seascapes and landscapes…portraying the sky at sunset, sunrise, clear or stormy, rough and calm seas. Seeing and interrupting color...in landscapes, seascapes, still life, animal portraits...It’s all about the color!"
